Happy Thanksgiving!

We have enjoyed 2 days of thanskgiving, on wednesday with all of my family and then thursday with both sets of our parents. Luke woke up this morning very disappointed that there are no grandparents or uncles here today!! We are thankful for so much this year and enjoyed being able to spend lots of time this week with our families, here are some pictures....

Abigail with Uncle Matt

Luke with Uncle Andy and his girlfriend Stephanie

Luke and I made turkey cupcakes, he was lots of help in between eating lots of candy corn and icing!!

Luke loves to play in this house outside, unfortunately he doesn't like to be alone in the house and it is not made for adults to fit in! Uncle Andy was nice enough to go along with Luke's demands to have company inside :-)

Vic put up the new nativity scene he has worked on for several months now....Luke likes to hide behind the characters...can you find him?

Here is the whole thing at night, Vic did a great job! And while the main reason for putting this up is to remember why we celebrate Christmas - it also doubles as outdoor entertainment for Luke!

No more pictures!

We took the kids to attempt a family Christmas picture this morning - it was torture. After a long wait and multiple bribes, we managed to get 1 decent picture of our family. This is the picture everyone will be receiving in our Christmas card because there is no way we will attempt to go through that again.
For some reason, after the first picture fiasco, we decided we should also try to get a picture with Santa since there was no line and the kids were already dressed up. We found out that Luke is completely terrified of Santa and refused to go anywhere near him for a LONG time. Finally, we managed to get him close enough to get a picture, but only if we were holding him. In case you can't tell, Santa is holding Abby - she blends in to his suit!

As if the first two picture events of the day weren't traumatic enough, when we got home from the mall, I decided I really needed to try to get a picture of the kids together. I have now completely driven my children and husband crazy today and have come to the realization that there will not be a perfect picture with a newborn and a 2-year-old....but that is ok because I am just so blessed to be celebrating this coming Christmas season with a wonderful husband and two beautiful children!!!

Little Indian

Luke was a little Indian today for the thanksgiving feast at his school. The kids had prepared cute placemats, Indian hats and food necklaces (however, the fruitloops on Luke's necklace were nearly gone by the time the feast began!). I was shocked he actually kept his hat on and sat "indian style" most of the time along with his classmates :-) Each child brought a type of fruit that was all mixed together to have a fruit salad during the feast.

Abigail is 2 months old!

My first picture of her smiling!

It is hard to believe Abigail turned 2 months old yesterday! I took her in for her check-up yesterday (It was my first time taking 2 kids to the doctor's office at once....I hope to not have to do that again!). Abigail weighed 10 pounds 8 ounces (50th %) and was in the 75th% for height. She is smiling a lot more and starting to hold her head up better. Abigail is starting to show she might have a strong will like her brother - she wants things her way, refusing to take a bottle and screaming when she doesn't get food fast enough! However, she is still a pretty easy baby, sleeping usually a 6-8 hour stretch at night and very happy during the day.

She also likes her playmat and is doing really well at holding onto things. I have to help her grasp things to begin with, but she will hold on for a long time!

My little aggies

I tried to take pictures of the kids in their aggie attire this morning....Abby is much more cooperative than Luke!

When I asked Luke to take a picture with his sister, he was too busy taking apart the vacuum cleaner to use part of it as a microphone...

So then I bribed him with a lollipop to try for a better picture, this is the best I could get.

Maybe next time I should use something better than a lollipop for a bribe :-)

Twice the kids

Today, my friend Jessica came over to visit with her kids, Sterling and Kate. Kate is just 4 weeks old, and it was our first time to meet each other's baby girls! Our boys are 3 weeks apart in age, and now so are our girls, so it is so neat to share the experience of our children at the exact same ages. Luke and Sterling played great together while Jessica and I got to chat, and Kate and Abby did what they do best - eat and sleep :-) It was so funny to all the sudden have twice as many kids among us, we were definitely outnumbered but we had lots of fun!

Abby with her new friend Kate!

They enjoyed playing on the floor and in the boppy together :-)

Luke and Sterling look so innocent just reading the Christmas toy ads together!

This looks like trouble...

Two little monkeys jumping on the sofa....where did the cushions go??

Wow, it looks like a tornado came through!

So sweet, big brothers with their little sisters :-)
