When mommy is away....

Yesterday, Luke had a night away from mommy (I was at a girls night out), and Luke spent the evening with my parents, Uncle Andy and Vic going to an astros game.....and apparently they let him eat anything and everything that Minute Maid Park has to offer, including COTTON CANDY!!! I was told Luke really enjoyed this new treat, I'm not surprised - what 2 year old wouldn't enjoy a ball of blue sugar?? And this was after he ate a hot dog, french fries, some barbecue sandwich and who knows what else. I feel like I need to feed him carrots and apples for a few days to make up for this. Oh well, now I know why he gets more excited to see his grandparents than he ever gets to see me, I won't take it personally.

Mmmmm....this is yummy!!

Luke's favorite things

Here are some pictures of Luke enjoying his current favorite things, which he asks for all day long!!!
Luke knows where I keep the craft materials and begs for "colors", which is the playdough. We don't know if he loves playdough because you can do cool things with it, like stick your crayons in it, or.......

It doubles as a snack :-)
Mommy usually has to cut short the playdough activities because of Luke eating it all!

Luke also loves to ask for my kitchen utensils, which he has decided he also like to use to eat his food with.....I guess you can shovel in more macaroni with a spatula than with a little kid-sized spoon!

And last but not least, Luke is obsessed with flashlights....in the event we ever actually need to use one, I'm sure all the batteries will be dead.

Visit with Uncle Andy

Yesterday, Luke's Uncle Andy came for a visit....Luke was so excited when he woke up from his nap and his uncle was here, that Luke just ran circles around the house!! Unfortunately, we were going to go swimming after dinner and it rained, so we just played indoors. Thanks for coming to see us Uncle Andy, Luke definitely had fun with you!

Fun Preparing for Abigail!

Well, I only have a little over 5 weeks to go before Abigail arrives (I would take a few days early too!), and in the last couple weeks, my wonderful friends have blessed me with some fun activities and lots of girly gear :-) Last week, a few of my closest friends from around the houston area met up for a dinner out (without the kids, it was great to have adult conversation!) and we had a great time catching up and celebrating Abigail's upcoming arrival. Here are some pictures from that evening...

I even got to have my favorite cake (strawberry) after a yummy dinner, and it was appropriately pink!

These were cute baskets made for our boys when our new babies arrive soon, we don't want them to be left out! (Thanks Kristy!)

Then yesterday, the sweet girls in our sunday school class surprised me with a shower at our playgroup. It was truly a surprise, which they pulled off by making me think no one was actually coming (since I am the one that organizes it) and it was truly a shock. I have never had a surprise like that before and it was so much fun. Thanks girls, it made me feel so special and we are so blessed to have a wonderful church family that encourages and supports us. Abigail is looking forward to meeting all her little friends :-) Here are a few pictures from this too....

This was right after I walked in

I had a wonderful little helper to help open the gifts, I hope my baby girl is as much of a help as Faith is!

Are these not the cutest cupcakes you have ever seen? Kristy made these, and though she will not admit to being a professional, I think she is!! And they tasted as yummy as they look :-)

All of this has just made me even more excited to realize that Abigail will be here soon!!!

Children's museum

Vic and I took Luke to the children's museum, along with Grandma and Granddad, yesterday. It was really helpful to have a 4 adult : 1 Luke ratio.....he runs so fast that you need multiple people keeping an eye on him, especially when it is crowded (which it was). I definitely couldn't have kept up with Luke by myself, I am just not moving that fast these days! We had tons of fun though, I think Luke could have stayed in the kidtropolis area all day, especially in the grocery store and diner. This was the first time I have taken Luke that he spent most of our time there in the actual museum areas, not just the "tot spot", he's getting to be such a big boy! Here are a couple pictures :-)

Hmmm....all this food looks yummy!

Does real money come out of this thing??

Oops, I forgot to read the sign that says in big bold letters "Do not enter"!! Fortunately, daddy was able to pull me out of here! (This was a really cool area that Luke loved - you roll golf balls down different ramps and see how they move, Luke tried to climb into the area where the balls end up at the bottom)
