For some reason, Luke has lately decided to say to us "Focus!"....probably because we have to tell him to focus on things often when his attention is lacking. So tonight we were sitting at the dinner table and out of nowhere Luke yelled at Vic, "Focus, I need you to focus!". Vic asked him what he was supposed to focus on? And Luke's response was "Focus on me!!".....seriously, is this what comes with turning 3???

2 pairs of friends
We went to visit our friends Jessica, Sterling and Kate yesterday. Sterling and Kate are perfect playmates for my kids because they are the same ages, and they had tons of fun as you can see!!
I don't know which is scarier, a pair of 3 year old boys in disguise or......
Running around blind with buckets on their heads (while their little sisters crawl around under them)!!
This was the first time that Abby and Kate really played together now that they are both mobile. I think they are friends already :-)

Growth updates
The kids are growing like weeds, I took both of them for check-ups recently and here are their updates....Abby at 9 months is 17 lbs, 4 oz. (25th%) and 28 1/2 inches tall (75-90th%). Just for comparison, Luke was this weight at a little over 4 months, she is definitely a lightweight compared to her brother! Luke at 3 years is 39 lbs and 40 inches tall.
Abby seems to have developed a love for cheese, just like her big brother and mommy :-) She actually cries when I put food on her tray if it does not include cheese!!!
This is Luke's special new bear. One of his birthday presents from a friend was a gift certificate to Build-a-bear and he picked out this cute camo bear and dressed him up as Buzz Lightyear :-)

Luke's 3rd birthday party
Luke looked forward to his birthday party for a long time. It was so fun to see him get excited about it for the first time, and as the days got closer, he just kept saying "I want to go to my birthday party!"....constantly. We had it at a great indoor play area, the kids had a super fun time climbing and sliding and did not want to leave. I hate to tell him he has to wait a whole year for his next party! Here are some pictures...

Pics from Luke's birthday
Luke had a great birthday celebration last night, all of his grandparents met us at ChuckECheese and then we came back home for cake and presents. Luke was so excited about his presents that he did not even have a bite of cake! And he woke up this morning still wanting to wear his birthday crown :-)

Luke is 3!!!!!!!
I cannot believe my baby Luke turns 3 today!! Today has been so much fun, this is the first year that he has really understood and been excited about his birthday...although there is some confusion about why his birthday party is not today, we just keep telling him that he gets to have 2 parties! This year has gone by so fast, but I want to remember how Luke has changed and grown this year. This was a very special year because Luke became a big brother! Even though I sometimes think Luke is oblivious to Abby, I can tell lately that he cares a lot about her. Every morning, if she is not already up, Luke asks where sister is. And he is very sweet to Abigail, always bringing her toys to play with and even sharing his food :-) We have seen Luke become more patient, less wild (some days!) and a lot easier to take places. I think that is one of the things Vic and I enjoy the most about Luke now, he gets excited about going places he loves, like the park, the pool, the zoo, and it is actually enjoyable to take him! He also has come a long way in his communication, we understand most of what he says and we love hearing him talk. Luke's favorite things to play with are little action figures and things he can build with. A big change is that Luke sits still long enough now to love playing games (candy land is his favorite!) and asks us to read books to him. He also loves doing crafts and I enjoy that I don't have to hover over him just because he has a crayon or playdough in his hand! Luke has definitely grown a lot and we have more and more fun with him every day! I will post more pictures later after our celebration with all of Luke's grandparents tonight.
