Happy Birthday Grandma!

Today is Grandma Jan's birthday, so I took these pictures for her. Grandma and Granddad brought Luke back some special lollipops from Disney World last week and this was Luke's first time to have a lollipop. I would say it was a hit!! Happy Birthday Grandma :-)

Happy Father's Day!

We have had a nice Father's Day, although a little unexpected. We had both of our families over yesterday to celebrate and right as we sat down to eat Luke's favorite food (Mexican!), he suddenly got sick with a fever. So, I stayed home with Luke this morning while Vic went to church and then we met him afterwards for lunch because Luke seems to be much better today. Happy Father's day, especially to Vic, my dad and Vic's dad!!!

This was the other craft Luke and I worked on for Daddy, we fingerpainted cards for Vic and both of Luke's grandfathers and then Luke helped make this special shirt with his handprints :-)

New craft project

Luke and I tried out a new craft project today - painting!! He absolutely loved it, he liked painting with his hands, the brushes....the messier the better! We worked on a special Father's day craft too that we will show pictures of later.

Spoke too soon

Well, this new sleeping arrangement doesn't seem to working out as well as I thought it was. Luke did great for 2 days, napping and sleeping at night in his crib. However, he has suddenly embraced his new freedom and does anything in his room except sleep in his crib. I moved all of his toys out of his room, but he could play with a piece of lint for 2 hours and be happy not taking a nap! This is what he is currently doing naptime right now....

Transition time

We have been thinking about how we are going to move Luke to a "big boy bed" in the next couple of months before the baby comes, because we were not planning on buying a second crib, which meant Luke has to get out of it before september! So last night, we started the transition by changing Luke's crib into a toddler bed (basically just took the front off of it). We were very apprehensive about this since he is not a child to just stay in one place! It definitely got off to a rocky start as you can see from the pictures....

At first Luke seemed to like the new arrangement....

About 5 seconds later (as we expected), Luke climbed right out of it...

And 5 seconds after that, he began dismantling the crib!! (which we were not expecting!!) I think if Luke had a screwdriver, he would have done far more than just remove the mattress. At this point, Vic and I thought we had made a huge mistake.

In the end, when it actually came to bedtime, he cried at the gate for a few minutes (we put a gate on the doorway of his room), but eventually went back to his crib and went to sleep. He woke up a couple times and got out of his bed once, but spent the whole night in his crib, and he is currently asleep for a nap right now. Yea! Vic and I are are not as stupid as we thought we were last night! :-)
