7 months old!

Well, the months are definitely passing too quickly, I can't believe Luke turned 7 months old yesterday! This past month has been interesting, Luke has finally decided he likes solid food afterall, and now he gobbles the food down :-) He loves sitting up but still doesn't like to be on his stomach so I don't think he will ever crawl! Luke surprised us with a new trick a few weeks ago, he started pulling himself up to standing....we really aren't encouraging that trick because we are not ready for a mobile child! Our fun adventure today was a trip to the children's museum with some friends. They have a "tots" area where little kids can play on big soft mats with lots of mirrors and fun things to look at and play with. Here are a couple recent pictures. Thanks for checking on us!

Luke still loves bath time!

Luke was very amused looking at himself in the mirrors at the museum.

Luke and Mark playing in the music area at the museum, they look like professionals to me!

Granddad's birthday and football

My parents came over yesterday to celebrate my dad's birthday. Here is Luke and his granddad. We also watched lots of football, as you can tell, Luke was cheering for Green Bay and was very disappointed by their loss!!

Dinner out

Luke recently outgrew his infant carrier and moved onto the bigger car seat (which I was so sad about because he loved it and would always fall asleep in it!) and so tonight was his first time to actually sit up in a high chair when we went out to dinner. His favorite part of dinner was when the waiter at pappasitos came to sing Happy Birthday to the table next to us, Luke thought they were singing to him! Here is a picture from dinner and also of Luke and Dad playing together.

6 month check-up

Luke turned 6 months old this week! He went to the doctor for his 6 month check-up today, Luke weighs 19 lbs. 7 oz. (75% percentile) and is 27 inches long (75% percentile). Luke is really enjoying playing with his toys, especially now that he is sitting up so well. We have started trying some new solid foods, but unfortunately, Luke has taken after his daddy and doesn't like vegetables! We'll try fruits soon, hopefully that will go better :-)
This was Luke's first experience with sweet potatoes, I don't think he liked them!

Luke got to hang out with Uncle Andy before Andy goes back to college. They like to watch espn together and discuss sports :-)

Merry Christmas!

We have been looking forward to our first Christmas with Luke since he was born, and it certainly was a fun day! We spent Christmas morning with Vic's parents and then came back to our house, and my family came over. Luke fought very hard to stay awake and not miss any excitement, who needs a nap anyways on Christmas day?! He loved helping open his gifts and I am sure he will have lots of fun playing with all of his toys. Here are some pictures from Christmas day.

Well this is what Luke looked like by the end of the day! It was definitely an exciting ( and tiring!) first Christmas for him!

Christmas Eve

Luke's first Christmas was so exciting! We spent Christmas Eve with Vic's family and Luke's first reaction to the presents under the tree was to grab the bows and try to rip the paper, we knew he was ready for Christmas morning! After going to the Christmas eve service at Vic's parents church, we had a family get together that evening and Luke had lots of fun opening presents with all the kids. He was up really late and of course did not have time for a nap, so this did lead to a rather fussy Christmas day :-) Here are some pictures from Christmas Eve.

We don't have many pictures on Christmas day with Vic or me in the picture, so I added this to prove we really did spend Christmas with our son!

This was at Vic's cousin's house where we all gathered and the kids opened their presents. Luke actually did seem very interested in all of his gifts!

Before we went to bed, Vic and Luke read "The night before Christmas", Luke loves to read and help turn pages!

Luke is 5 months old!

Here are some pictures of Luke playing with his favorite things. It is so hard to believe he is 5 months old! He is close to being able to sit up, he loves to touch his toes and play with his toys. He has really enjoyed looking at the lights on our Christmas tree and we are looking forward to our first Christmas with him!

We have been trying to take a picture for our Christmas card, but Luke doesn't like to smile for the camera!! Here are a couple we have taken.
