Science Museum

Yesterday my mom took us to the science museum, and the kids had a blast. We spent most of our time in the butterfly exhibit, which I had never been to, and had no idea it has such cool stuff about bugs....perfect for a 3 year old boy!

Grossest sight of the day - the hissing cockroaches! A lady working at the museum took one out of the display and held it up for Luke to hear it hiss... I decided I could never be an entomologist

Abby looked amazed when we first walked in and saw all the butterflies!

Luke was very serious about identifying the butterflies using the "map" as he called it, I was so impressed with how interested he was!

Thanks Grandma for spending the day with us and helping us have so much fun!!

Beach and Mother's Day!

Last weekend, Vic's dad celebrated his 60th birthday with a "Beach party" as Luke called it :-) We spent Friday and Saturday in Galveston at a beach house with Vic's parents, we enjoyed beautiful weather and the kids had a blast. This was Luke's first trip to a beach (Abby went to Puerto Rico to the beach with us last year, but we doubt she remembers that!), and they LOVED it. I think Luke and Vic could have spent days working on their sand castles, it was so cute to see them have so much fun together. The beach party was even more fun than Luke had anticipated and it was such a fun way to celebrate PaPa's birthday. Then on Sunday, we enjoyed a yummy Mother's Day brunch with my family to end a great weekend. I am so blessed to be a mom to my precious two children!

Happy Easter!

The last couple weeks in our house have been pretty hectic - we have spent 2 weeks passing around the stomach flu, intermingled with way too many Easter egg hunts and candy! It has been fun though (the Easter stuff, not the stomach bug), I think we have finally convinced Luke that Easter is about Jesus - not chocolate bunnies - and here are some pictures.

The first egg hunt at church -

Easter crafts at home while we were homebound being sick :-(

Easter party at Luke's school

Luke's class, they are all so cute!

Easter fun with Grandma and Granddad!

Easter morning - this is what things were really like before church....

Then more Easter fun with Nana's family after church

Fun Weekend

We are trying to take advantage of the last few days of not-yet-boiling weather because it is coming soon! We have spent a lot of time outside, at parks and playing in the water, all my kids' favorite things to do.

Playing with our friend Aaron at the splashpad.....

My kids quickly abandoned the water for snacks instead, this seems to happen a lot

Open House

Last Thursday, Luke's preschool had Open House, and the children all participated in singing songs in front of the parents and then showed us their rooms. We were so proud of Luke - he stood right in the middle of the 3 year olds and sang the songs, did his hand motions and smiled the whole time! If you knew Luke last year as a 2 year old, you would know why we were so proud of him....because this time last year, I could not imagine him following directions or standing still long enough to do this!! He has matured so much this year and is such a sweet and loving boy!

Luke showing us his book of crafts he has made through the year

Luke and his best school buddy Corbin, I am so glad they were in the same class again this year!

Last but not least, Luke's two AMAZING teachers. Luke has adored them and they have done a wonderful job teaching and loving my baby this year :-)

Wedding

Last weekend, Vic and I were so excited to attend the wedding of one of his best friends Emil, whom he has known since elementary school. They had a beautiful outdoor wedding and we enjoyed being able to celebrate with all of them (and thanks to my parents for watching our kids so we could go alone!). Since we were without children, we actually took a few pictures of ourselves!

Vic performing his groomsman duty, he did a good job!

The ceremony location, it was so pretty!

Emil and Lisa, they had an awesome hamburger groom's cake :-)

Rodeo time

We had a fun outing a couple weeks ago with my parents and Vic, to take the kids to the Houston Rodeo. Both kids loved running around and seeing the animals and sitting on the tractors. However their favorite thing (like last year) was running up and down a silly astroturf hill??

Luke with the Borden cow, we need ones of these at our house since we go through so much milk!!

Abby and Luke both walked through the outside farm exhibit and collected all of their items, it was lots of fun!

Abby loved pointing at the animals, but for some reason that day, refused to walk around herself and just wanted to see the animals from a distance
