Valentine's Day festivities

It just occurred to me that Luke has no idea what valentine's day is, except that he knows it has something to do with hearts and lots of candy!! We had a mops playgroup monday where we decorated cookies, we made our own crafts at home for Luke's grandparents, and then his school party was today. It has been a fun week with lots of sugar, here are some pictures...
Decorating cookies at our MOPS playdate, this is the only kind of smile I can get out of Luke these days!

Abby was too little to decorate cookies, but enjoyed the playdate anyways :-)

Making valentine cards at home
**Note to parents - there is a reason that glitter glue is such a great invention - when the glitter is already mixed in with the glue, there is much less mess than when glue and glitter are used separately!!! But as you can tell, Luke enjoyed his first experience with real glue and glitter!!

Abby is starting to enjoy some of the toys she received at Christmas, like her teapot and teacups!

Valentine party at school - Luke was very serious about decorating his cupcake

And then he enjoyed eating it!

Luke's parties are always interesting, I go half with excitement and half with dread at what he is going to do...today was no exception. The game was to throw the inflatable heart over the arrows (like a ring toss). While the other kids were nicely waiting in line for their turn, Luke kept stealing the arrows and bringing them to me, and then he stole the kids prizes they received for playing. And when it was finally his turn, instead of gently tossing the heart, he was BEATING it on the groung repeatedly like he was trying to kill something. I really don't know where he gets this crazy side. Oh well, he enjoyed the game!

Luke beating the everliving daylights out of the inflatable arrows....

Looks like it was a fun week! Maybe Luke just realizes early on that Valentine's is a kinda silly holiday, so he's attacking the arrows. Did the missing teacup turn up?
