Crawling!

Abby has been rolling and scooting all over the place lately, but tonight she actually crawled for the first time! She just moved forwards 3 or 4 times, but it was so cute. Well, we had a good run of sitting in one place.....someone should definitely tell Luke though that life is going to be different for him now too!

Here comes the mobility

I got a cute surprise this morning when I opened Abby's door, I had just put her down for a nap but could tell she was not sleeping - she was sitting up! She was VERY proud of herself and was irritated when I tried to lay her back down to continue her nap. She is not crawling yet, but is getting up on her knees and scooting/rolling as far as possible to get things she wants. I will enjoy these last few days (weeks I hope!) of her not officially crawling yet because I can see it is coming soon!

Luke thought it was funny to see Abby sitting up too, so he jumped in to play with her :-)

Fun weekend...mostly

We started off the weekend with a trip to the zoo on friday -

You would think that all we do is stop to eat at the zoo, but we do actually look at animals!

This afternoon we went to a carnival at my parents church to celebrate the opening of their new children's buildings. Luke rode a mechanical bull!!! Now what makes this so unbelievable is that up until about a month ago, Luke did not want anything he rode to move -he would get in rides at chuck e cheese, but not let us put tokens in because he didn't want the ride to move (that was nice and cheap while that lasted!). Luke was great today, he waited in lines, held our hand, rode the rides by himself and was very well behaved.

The not so fun part of our weekend came in between these activities when I decided that yesterday was a good day to start potty training.....it was not. Luke had no interest in using the potty, didn't care about our bribes and by lunch time was back in diapers...ahh! This could be a VERY long week.

Where did the year go?

Today was Luke's last day of preschool for the year. I remember the first day, I was so sad that he was old enough for preschool and that he would not be with me every day.... but I got over that as quickly as everyone told me I would! I was sad today in a different way, the year went by so fast and I know each year will probably go by even faster. So I am looking forward to a summer with lots of time together, at least until next week when we start potty training!

As happy as Luke was to get out of school.....

His teachers look even more excited this is the last day!!

Yesterday we visited Jessica, Sterling and Kate. It is much too difficult to get a picture of the boys together, but I can still manage a picture of the girls, they had a lot of fun :-)

Happy Mother's Day!

Today was a very special day for us. Besides being Mother's Day, it was also Abby's baby dedication at our church. Abigail did great, but we figured she would, it was Luke we were worried about! And much to my surprise and delight, Luke was wonderful! He stood next to us on the stage and hardly moved, I was very proud of him. Our parents were all there for the occasion and we enjoyed a great lunch out afterwards to celebrate Mother's day for all of us.
