My parents gave Luke an early birthday present so he could start using it now (and he won't know the difference between now or waiting until his birthday anyways!). Vic put it together last night and we tried it out, Luke loves it!! He loves to swing and climb, and it was small enough to fit in our sunroom so we can use it anytime. Luke says thank you to grandma and granddad!!

Our anniversary
Today Vic and I are celebrating our 6th wedding anniversary, it is so hard to believe that 6 years have gone by, and they have all been wonderful!! Anniversaries are very different with a baby around, but we are fortunate to have great babysitters (i.e. Luke's grandparents) that helped out last night so Vic and I could enjoy a quiet dinner out. We have actually had a very hectic weekend, we bought a new car yesterday! Again, we were fortunate we had grandparents around because after taking Luke to one dealership and trying to look at and test drive cars, we knew that wasn't going to be a fun experience, so we dropped him off at Vic's parents house and kept shopping. It is my very first new car to own, and I love it (it's a ford expedition). I have always driven a car, so I am getting used to driving a big suv, but I am really happy with what we picked out. And I know everyone really just cares about Luke, not us, so I will make sure and post some pictures of Luke and his latest activities :-)
The new car :-)
Luke playing in the tub, we finally took him out of the baby tub and just let him play in the big tub, he loves it!
Luke loves this little tiger we got him at the san antonio zoo. He has figured out the best way for him to carry a toy and crawl at the same time is of course to carry it in his mouth!! He crawled all over the house with the tiger hanging out of his mouth :-) Also, I didn't get a picture, but Luke crawled all the way up our stairs today (with us closely behind). Thank goodness we have gates on the stairs!

Happy Father's Day!
We had a very fun father's day celebration with our parents this evening. Luke is feeling much better after having been sick this weekend (however, as you can see from the pictures, he never made it out of his p.j.'s today!) Vic was such a great daddy today (like always), he even stayed home with Luke this morning while I went to church since we didn't want Luke in the nursery after having a fever. We are so thankful for our dads and it was even more special to celebrate Vic's first father's day too!

Zoobilee!
We have been really busy this past week with VBS prep days and playgroups (I thought summer would be more relaxing!). Friday evening, we went to zoobilee (an event at the houston zoo for zoo members). We thought it would be fun to go to the zoo when it is cooler in the evenings and not as many people.....we didn't realize that half of Houston apparently belongs to the zoo and they were all there! We had fun despite the crowds and saw lots of animals. We also took Luke to freebirds where he had his first taste of a burrito. He seemed to like it, but he didn't eat much. Later that night, he came down with his very first fever, we should have known something was wrong when he didn't eat much for dinner! He is much better now, we are very fortunate to have gone this long with no illnesses!
Here is a picture of us with our friends at zoobilee :-)

Out of town
Luke and I have spent the week visiting friends and my family while Vic was gone for a work retreat in Galveston (although between building sandcastles, fishing and lots of good meals, I am not sure how much "work" was involved!) We visited Jessica and Sterling and stayed with grandma and granddad. We went to a different mall every day with grandma and shopped, we were worn out! We had several firsts this week, Luke rode his first little ride at the mall (grandma has been wanting to try those out for a long time), Luke had his first cookie at the mall, and he tried whole milk for the first time (he loved it). We had lots of fun but were glad to come back home and see daddy! Here are some pictures from the last few days.

We took Luke out to see Malissia's (Matthew's fiance) horse....Luke did not seem very impressed with Summer, but Summer was very interested in Luke. Summer kept trying to smell Luke's diaper, never a good sign!
